I can understand why the PS3 would benefit from a network connection .... but a BR/DVD player??
#1- BD-Live is BORING. Nothing worth hooking it up to the network. Not even Disney BRs provide a decent content for BD-Live ... and they are the best of a very few using it.
#2- Do you really want to hook up your BR player to the net and let Sony control what you can watch or play?? Or silently install updates without your consent?? Or do you really think that Sony would not use the opportunity to find out what movies you are watching and block any movies they believe to be pirated.
