No Netflix? No Roku? Why bother...
Streaming your own content over the network let's you watch what you already own, but the future is streaming services. Any device which doesn't support a streaming service is going to win very few sales these days.

I can't wait to see Amazon do a streaming HD content rental/purchase service. They should use their Kindle setup as a model. Create an HD playback device with a 2GB hard drive. Store our purchased library on their servers and let us download a subset of our library to our streaming devices in our home any time we want. Swing a deal where we can stream Netflix HD rentals, as well. That device and service would sell like hotcakes.
