It costs $800 more...and is probably worth it
Fluorescent backlights suck energy and burn out, while LED's sip power and last virtually forever. If one LED fails you probably wouldn't even notice the faintly dimmer onscreen spot. Figure a service call and bulbs plus power savings over a 10-year lifespan, and you've got a wash.
