We dropped cable 6 months ago.

We found a local ISP and got 12M down, 2M up
for $50 a month and kicked $110 a month of Time
Warner out the door.

A decent TV with a PC hooked up,wireless
keyboard/trackball and you're good to go.

Selecting what you want to watch instead of the
TV mindlessly running in the background
pummeling you with commercials does take a
while to get used to, but there is plenty of
content and you finally get to jump off the
never-ending bill increase bus of cable and satellite.
