Downtime timing
"In many cases, timing and duration are more important than total downtime/outage."

This is so very, very true!

I'd rather have my internet or computer be down at, say midnight when I'm sleeping than say around noon while I'm working on an important project.

Of course, I don't work in the business area you're talking about, but I've found on my personal computing experience that I much prefer an "unreliable" PC for my email and important stuff than a "reliable" cloud computing solution. Partially because my downtime is much more controllable and planned. It's much better IMHO to have controlled downtime than uncontrolled downtime, even if that means "reliability" numbers aren't as good.
