Bring back the Palm!
Or - bring back the Palm!

I've got the Palm T|X - the last PIM device not tied to a phone. No longer being sold, but works great. Yeah, needs a Wi-Fi, but those are pretty common.

What the T|X has:

-Email available whether online or offline (emails stored on the device).

-Full PIM support with the following:
--Email
--Calendar
--Task list
--Memos
--Contacts
--Photo and videos
--Syncs with Outlook

-It has an SD card reader for memory expansion

-It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. No celluar, though. But then again, that does mean I'm not gonna pay monthly happy.

-It has a built-in web browser, and you can get Opera Mini for it.

-Finally, the Palm T|X has full support for custom applications. They were doing the whole "app store" thing long before the iPhone popularized it.

So the Peek has the advantage of being able to access the celluar network, and true push email if you get the "Peek Pronto."

But what I think would be great is something that's more like a true PIM device with a calendar, TODO list, contact list, and notes. If they can add those to the Peek, that would probably work great for most people.

Dunno why Palm stopped selling its non-phone devices, but looks like there's still a demand for stuff like that. Not everybody is in the market for an expensive phone with an expensive plan.
