Of course this is interesting for types for which you do not have a real-
time sharing ability. You really have to have knowledge of the file type to allow simultaneous edits to a file, and to merge changes from multiple users.

That said, this will bring at least rudimentary sharing to all file types, and, as time goes on, they will be able to create plug-ins to merge changes to more and more file types. And, they may even create editors to allow simultaneous editing like Google Docs for some file types.

Innovation is great!
