Social networking is the problem
The whole "social networking" paradigm has a fundamental problem, and that is that keeping in touch with other people shouldn't be an objective in and of itself.

Yet a lot of these "concepts" are just that: get people into a herd mentality so they sign up, start sharing the most stupid and mundane details of their lives, and have them do it "20 times a day" as though they don't have a "real" life to live.

It's all about selling ads and making a buck, and the sooner people turn their backs on this crap and instead concentrate on real relationships that build lasting memories, the better.
