Ambitious But Crap
Funny, I wrote a post on Facebook advertising too last night (http://www.kennethlim.net/2009/06/08/is-a-decline-in-facebook-ad-traffic-forcing/).

I guess an ad campaign like this one really reinforces the fact that they're missing the point completely.

Partially, it's not their fault. Facebook's decision to limit ad displays will lead to certain company's ads being displayed more frequently elsewhere (depending on the positioning they bought).

Worse, however, is that these ads also look poorly designed, because:
(1) They don't really point anywhere useful. I can only guess that they point to sneak previews.
(2) As a result, it's pretty much impossible to gauge the effect of what it's ultimately about: attracting more viewers. How will they know which viewers they attracted through this campaign?
(3) OK, that last point is always going to be a tricky one to get, but there also isn't a social aspect. I haven't checked, but I'm guessing there's no TNT/Raising The Bar/The Closer Facebook page that users can join to discuss the network/shows. This really is a missed opportunity here.

In short, I think they're being ambitious but crap about this.
