Developing customer relations...
with social media is truly a sad state of affairs. It isn't all that social either. You can't begin to know and understand your customers through social media. Social media's replacement of person to person transactions is truly one of the worst extensions of IT. In fact, I can't imagine a worse application of IT. Companies may be trying to leverage social media but that doesn't make it right. Just like pressing an endless series of buttons on your phone before actually reaching a person to talk to, customer relations across social media is in no way good for the customer. Social media is a pure example of IT for the sake of IT instead of IT for the sake of business.
