CNN's streaming worked because they were smart enough to only accept as many viewers as they could handle.

When MSNBC failed on me, I went to CNN, and was told via a banner on the screen something to the effect of "Glad that you made it! So did everyone else. Get in line, you'll get to see it when we can accommodate you."

I'm not complaining, though. It was a good excuse to leave the office and go to a restaurant with a TV to watch it, and I'm glad that they did it that way, so those that got to it early enough got to watch it without the hiccups and stutters.
