- RE: $299 Kindle: Great, now make it read PDF!
-
Indeed, PDF for the K2 would be fantastic and would satisfy some 75% of my readings needs. Maybe 80%. There are still those protected PDF versions of textbooks that I'd like to read on my Kindle, of course. That's the remaining 20-25% of what I read. But if Amazon simply makes native PDF support (for unprotected PDFs) available on the K2, it's gone as far as it *must* go, in my judgment. It *should* go the rest of the way by supporting protected PDF, but that is likely a bigger obstacle.
I've had a K2 for several months and have enjoyed it immensely. It's a good e-reader and the buying experience has been simple and easy. In comparison, getting a PDF over to the K2 is like setting type with Gutenberg's original printing press.
