HIstory Misunderstood
No we will not be going back to the moon nor will manned spaceflight continue once the last STS mission is flown there far too many pressing "social concerns".... Last time I checked the Applo program was one heck of a shot in the arm to the ecconomy and the job market. Nope the vast majority traded guts and freedom for "perceived safety".....hang on because it is going to be a fast and bumpy ride to the bottom.
As for who meaning which aerospace firms need remembering : Grumman Aerospace the builders of the LEM and Rocketdyne without them we never would have gotten of the ground.
