A couple of points. Regarding comments/talk backs, here's my
suggestion, someone moderate them and convert repeated comments
into links back to the first time they said it.

I tired to have an open mind about this, but I just don't understand
how the benefit of the Linux developer community would offset
Apple's costs to swap out the BSD userland with a Linux. (Or maybe it
was both BSD and Mach.) There's also the issue of retweaking the
graphical shell. And tossing over 15 years of expertise going back to
NeXT. There was some comment about Apple's alienation from GPL,
but, heavens to murgatroid, the compiler is gcc! To be clear about
this, I am not knocking Linux. For some of the things I use, java and
Haskell, Linux has better apps, but I don't think it's the GPL that
makes the difference there. As I said I don't see why it should sound
like a good idea to Apple and I don't see how it would improve my
Mac usage.
