In many cases the sales price is the realistic price and the normal price just reflects the greed of the supplier to maximise the CEO's income. I have even seen cases where the price is so high it reduces sales and produces less income than a lower price would bring. Only where there are many competing products of similar performance does the price have any relationship to costs.
