The "PC" as we know it today
Was created by IBM Boca Raton labs in the late 1970s. Yes, Intel created the x86, and other manufacturers created parts that went into the PC, but IBM created the PC BIOS, and put it all together and mass marketed it and took the risks. The industry which cloned it followed after.

There were other Personal Computers before the IBM PC. There was the Apple ][. the Tandy TRS-80, the CBM PET, the Kaypro, there was the Osborne, there was a whole bunch of obscure stuff that doesn't exist anymore in any tangible form. The only one with the lasting legacy is the IBM PC. Even the current x86-based "Mac" is just a brand name and has no resemblence to the two generations of "Mac" that came before it. Today's "Mac" is a PC.
