- iPhone slowdowns but still a great user experience!!
-
iPhone slows down and forced backup is painfully slow.
The first is that after a while the phone begins to show signs of serious slowdown in the OS. Once turned on everything runs fine, but after an hour or two I will start to notice things such as the effects (sound and visual) begin to disappear or not work.
...
The more apps you open, the more it slows down. If you use a lot of apps, get used to full resets every now and then.
Fantastic user experience! I thought that I could get away from reboots by switching from WM to iPhone? Considering I never have to reboot my WM phone, it seems to me that the iPhone would actually be a huge step down in reliability. Also, my WM phone never slows down, no matter how many apps I run. It seems that Apple could learn a lot from MS about how to make a fast, stable mobile OS.
Every time I connect my iPhone to iTunes it begins to back it up, even if nothing has changed, and each time it takes anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes to complete. Moreover, if I want to add music to the phone I have to go though this backup procedure before it will let me sync over new content.
Wow, that's a fantastic user experience!
The thing is, I wouldn't point these things out if Apple people didn't try to pretend that the iPhone was any better than WM. In fact, it would appear that if anything, the iPhone lags WM in speed and stability by a long shot. Oh well, maybe iPhone 3.0 will be better. Just ignore the fact that 1.0 and 2.0 are huge disappointments.
