RIM just dosen't get consumers
I have one of the original BB Pearls (8100). At the time I thought it was the best smartphone on the market, that's why I purchased it. I have been watching RIM to see what they do and I even get excited about what they may come up with next. However, after seeing the Storm fizzle and flop, and the new Storm 2 video, and now the new OS; I have come to believe that RIM just doesn't get the consumer market. Apple did set the bar for the consumer smart phone. Now we see Samsung, Google, and even Microsoft trying to pass the bar. Yet RIM is so focused on the corporate market and trying to get it's corporate phone model to attract the average consumer that they don't appear to ask, "What does the consumer want?", or "How are the consumers using their phones?" Time and time again I have been disappointed by the new Blackberries, not the quality of the phone, but the quality of the experience. I don't like Apple dictating to me how to use my phone or what carrier I can use. That's a trend I wish would stop. But now I am left finding another OS that is at least trying to understand that I am not a company.
