Misconceived?
I think your basic assumptions are wrong. The Tablet is likely to be a large format iPhone/iPod Touch rather than a small flat Mac.
The two devices would be very different beasts!

It might help if you knew something about what you were writing about.... Apple was actually the first main stream company with a hand held device with hand writing recognition when it invented the PDA with the Apple Newton in 1993(?). The Macintosh has included hand writing recognition in Mac OS X for years with it's InkWell technology.
