Not a bad idea, less paper waste, better information, a true step forward. So that's never gonna happen :P.

I know you said "kindle like" but I'd prefer an ARM/Android/WinMo netbook; more open and extendable, more accessable by special needs kids, multiple hardware vendors can help keep things competitive and low cost.
