I remain dubious about any real changes. The UAC whining was most likely something Microsoft was going to change anyway - it was a mistake and the company is famous for not admitting to making any, unless they are caught red-handed.

Also, UAC is something I believe that most users will turn off, as it is annoying, and anyone who has their machine properly fortified, and has just a tiny bit of experience will not need. The vaunted security is simply too little to put up with the aggravation.

Time would be better spent trying to get internal improvements done, rather than regressions to UI behavior that was best left in Windows 3.1. It's like the Volkswagen model, you refine the vehicle rather than simple change the facade every three years (in the case of MS and their OS, for VW it was each year).
