Am I missing something?
The Enterprise edition has the same features as Ultimate, except Enterprise only comes with a volume licence. That, in essence, means you won?t be able to buy it and allows universities to buy it in bulk for a cheaper price.

So what is your point?

You cannot purchase it, but your university can: Were they going to give you a copy of Windows? If so they can just purchae Ulitmate for you. Problem solved.

I can not see how a deal the school receives would effect you in anyway. I am sure they receive a volume discount on light bulbs, how does that help you?
