expectations
Dell releases laptops in the store before they bother
to "announce" them, and then only do so in press
releases.

Microsoft lets people see most of their products
(intentionally or not) before they announce them,
usually in a press release, sometimes at a show.

Only Apple bothers to have a huge show just to pimp a
new product.

Your expectations have been built on the iPhone-type
announcement, don't blame Microsoft for not playing
along.

I was bored during both Macworld and the CES keynote,
too. But my expectations weren't as high as yours.
