This battle and the comments are reminiscent of the discussions when PCs first started showing up. IBM was dominant in a way that everyone agreed Microsoft did not have a chance. Corporation all agreed that they would never use many PCs.

Predicting the future by watching the past is fun but has not worked in the past. The same arguments against software as a service were used against Windows when DOS was prevalent. I do not have a crystal ball to tell the future, but after 35 years in this industry the only constant is that the analysts are always wrong.
