pulling the ad?
Hameiri ... trying to get the ad was never really the issue as Pepsi itself seems to have taken that action before this story got going. I think the issue was more one of accountability -- either pulling the ad and apologising for it OR standing firm behind it and explaining the decision. I gave examples of where sister TBWA had failed to stand behind its work in the past. So is freedom of expression really that precious if its not to be defended?

Like you I am all for freedom of expression and thought and the free market place for ideas. But this market place of ideas got a whole lot more open and accessible through social media. So yes, ad agencies are free to put this content out there but the technology is going to mean they will face challenge and so must learn to face that.
