I wonder if they aren't replacements though.
I just prepped and delivered an Acer Aspire One to a flight attendant friend of mine. I replaced Adobe with KPDF, put in Tunderbird and Gaim and she loves it. I just got another text telling me "This is fantastic, I have 2 friends who are ordering one now".

She YouTubes, IMs, her (my recommendation) HP C1148 works perfectly, it has OO, it has skype, it has the full web, etc. That is what she uses a computer for. That is what the majority use their computer for. If she wants it, I will add KDEnlive to create movies. Seriously, for mainstream users, what don't these things do easily?

No gaming, but banking, taxes, all work for me through Linux.

You, me and most reading this are not typical, but most regular folks, email, some photo printing, surfing the web, controlling MP3 players, that's the majority.
