The question is...
What is the performance difference between the Storm 2 and the Storm? In its current form and firmware, the Storm is an excellent device. It is responsive and offers a rich user experience in terms of e-mail, web, tethering, and applications.

My guess is that Rim decided to do what Microsoft did with Vista - Rush out a new version to try and erase all of the bad memories of a rocky launch. The Storm and Vista will always be tainted no matter how much they have improved over their initial offerings. By offering the 2 or Windows 7, both companies are hoping for a "do-over" in the public's eye.

Unless the differences between the Storm 2 and Storm are substantial, I won't need to update right away. I am happy with what I have.
