Definitely bite on that at a lower price point
Having had a very reliable 10" Fujitsu P7010 laptop for three years, obstensibly to be able to use at client premises. I bought it, rather than a 2kg monster because I reasoned that I am more likely to take a smaller laptop on the off chance of it being used than a heavy, shoulder-distorting behemoth. And it was the case - I didn't always use it, but was grateful when I did need to.

Despite being no more powerful (but much better built) than the current crop of netbooks, I did run MS Office Professional simultaneously with other apps with little inconvenience. I am a Technical writer, so my use of Word, etc, is not trivial.

However, I eventually moved over completely to a multi-monitor, quad-core, midi-tower setup, and I am not looking back, especially as the 10" has gone faulty (as in unusable, due to something going wrong when I was trying to fix broken plastic around the hinges - something I have done succesfully on other laptops).

BUT, there is always the possibility that I may need to go out on customers' sites for future contracts and therefore a compact, 'real' computer the size of the Sony P series would be perfect. However, the price really precludes consideration for a machine that is not going to be well used. I am not adverse to forking out money for computers where it provides ongoing productivity improvements, but incidental use does not justify a price more than one of my 30" monitors.

I have a HTC touch HD mobile|cell phone with 3.8" 800x480 touch screen, so it already provides much of the low end browsing, etc, of what a P series would do, making its expense even less justifiable.
