HP has also squandered its push into higher end ultra portables. Its Voodoo Envy 133 desperately needs either a refresh or a price cut, on the site I believe the cheapest model was $1899, at least that came with a SP7700 Core 2 Duo. HP's not even selling it under their standard laptop page, the Envy has been exiled to a "buy direct" banner, not even any special branding on the page. I still think the Envy has some of the best looks and is extremely innovative, but like the Adamo it needs to stay current. HP was keeping the Voodoo name decent with its hybrid gaming PCs, but they need a Core i7 refresh too.
As a side note, aside from the amazingly affordable MSI thin-and-light, HP has refreshed the AMD powered dv3z with 45nm dual-core Turion Neo chips. the combination of a die-shrink with a extra core has only increased the TDP by 3W, so it should be pretty efficient, perhaps even competative with Intel's CULVs - Posted by: ricstorms@...
