Interesting
I have a first-generation Kindle and I love it. My mother, who probably qualifies as an old person with poor eyesight for these purposes, got a Kindle 2 and has not complained to me about the font being blurry. All I've heard from her is how amazing the device is. I haven't seen it myself to compare, but I'm guessing she probably has the font set to a large enough size that it isn't an issue for her.
