1 million activations - but how many cancellations?
I was one of the folks that was excited by this and took advantage of the free trial offered by Netflix.

That excitement disappeared rapidly, and I wound up canceling the trial within 24 hours after signing up.

Now, I've got cable modem service that I don't consider shabby - typically getting 700-800KB/s and often higher rates regardless of the time of day - but the Netflix servers seemed to think I had something more approaching dial-up. (Based on their bandwidth indicator that appears when you start streaming a movie) The quality of streamed movies was worse than VHS recordings I have lying around from the 80's.

If they join M$ and allow content from their libraries to be >downloaded< to my Xbox for viewing, I would certainly consider signing up with them again.

For the time being, I make do with the more limited library of content available for download rental right off the XBL marketplace. HD-format movies I've watched from the marketplace have been beautiful.
