What are you looking for from networking in the near future?

I want to network a bunch of my neighbours houses together. We get on pretty well in the terrace. I am 'local IT support' and have rebuilt all their XP PC's. I want us all to be on the same LAN for a few reasons:

In the UK SKY TV offer FREE broadband. Some of my neighbours have SKY but no PC! Some just do email and a bit of browsing. Some pay for extra bandwidth. I think a shared solution will deliver:
- greater bandwidth and throughput
- cheaper payments
- and enable the following ...

2. Many would like a new PC, to try VISTA, to try lots of stuff they can't afford or don't know how to do. I'm thinking of letting them use my system. Remote desktop or served up VM's. Needs a network too.
