Your analysts are a joke.
The reason they are analysts is because they couldn't cut it in the trenches. And now they are giving advice regarding things they couldn't do. At best, listening to them will give you information on how to fail. Just like they did. Had they been successful in the trenches they would still be there. You don't quit things you are good at and have a passion for.

Let's hear from real IT people that implement this stuff day in and day out. They are the ones that really know what's going on with CRM or any IT issues. Successful CIO's get their information from their peers, from people that actually implement these projects. That's where information on success and failure and best practices comes from. Not some loser sitting behind a desk.
