A pretty even-handed response from Leo
I've got to hand it to the guy. He delivered the right
message. There are some companies that won't be able to
function in the cloud due to either scale or the mission
critical nature of the component. If you're running a
manufacturing system you can't afford a cloud failure (i.e.
ISP or hosting provider) to stop production. You'll want
some pieces of the puzzle on-premise. What he didn't say
is that for most SMBs, running exclusively on the cloud is a
viable and far more profitable alternative.

He also made a good point about the need for innovation.
Canada, in my case, gets lousy marks for business
innovation. Using IT to deliver it is a good way to turn that
around. And innovation is the best and most sustainable
way to drive sales growth.
