Well that will get me to write a letter to Whole Foods
The policy is illegal on its face. But Whole Foods is a US company started in Texas, where Bush was Governor, so I will cut them a bit of slack. It has been about a year since a Los Angeles Prosecutor frustrated with lies from another government official got fired for comments. The courts established very clearly that if the Prosecutor had stated that he was commenting as a US citizen and not as a government employee he was within his legal rights and could not be fired.

This is the HP case all over again. It is also how Enron, Worldcom, Tyco, Exxon, and other corporations do wrong.

I suppose it is so clearly a policy not enforcible under US law that no one who is an executive or board member worthy of their position will pay attention to it. The problem is that it frightens non executives and officers.

Lets make certain every one knows. If you suspect a problem with the US food supply you Blog about it an Blog about it big time. That is your duty as a US citizen or as an employee of a US based firm regardless of citizenship. Lets say you work for a company that is US based and you suspect slaves are utilized out of country or in a US territory. You Blog baby and if you are fired you are well compensated - assuming you do not get whacked.

Can I say things any more clearly? The policy exposed in this article is a policy tolerated only by mobsters. It is not tolerated by US citizens.
