Montana is an energy producing state...
...just like the US as a whole. No one is arguing that we should ignore alternative energy sources, just that we cannot afford to kill our economy trying to make the switch. Coal, oil, and NG can meet our needs now while we develop solar, geothermal, and wind. As newer technologies come on line, the older forms will fade away. The Draconian taxes passed in the House bill will do serious damage to our economy and very little to spur new technologies.

Of course, if you Greenies want to speed this up and really get the ball rolling to move us away from fossil fuels, then get off of your anti-nuclear wagon. Nuclear fission is proven and safe technology that is available now, and could quickly be ramped up to meet our increasing energy needs while reducing our carbon footprint. Something will have to provide the power for all of those electric cars of the future, and the only options available here and now are fossil fuels and nuclear.
