On Saturday I accompanied my friend to BB to purchase a new surround-sound receiver and speaker setup for him. We saw this weird "bicycle" while walking through the store. Looked like a bicycle but with a very beefy frame (batteries) and a swollen rear hub (motor). The tires were big and fat, almost like something not out of place on a utility trailer. We both whistled at the price and muttered why someone would buy it instead of a very used car for that money. But to each his own, I guess.
EDIT: Okay, should have seen the links first. What we saw was a very strange-looking bicycle selling for about $2k, not the motorcycle shown in the video for $11k. My overall perception is that this isn't gonna work; only a small segment of the overall population wants to be seen on a "motorcycle" and those that do probably skew young and male, and thus would be drawn to something with sex appeal i.e. internal-combustion-powered. I remember that Honda back in the early 60's made their first bikes for the USA to look more like scooters, in order to appeal to a broader cross-section of the public. "You see the nicest people on a Honda" was one of the tags. - Posted by: Dorkyman Posted on: 09/01/09 (Edited: 09/01/2009 @ 06:16) You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
