TalkBack 1 of 1:
Bet they invested in Ethanol too
Whenever I hear news stories about the world wide shortage of food (you greenies don't seem to talk about that for some reason that I can't fathom) I wonder what all those hungry people think when they hear that in America, our government forces us to burn food in our gas tanks?

If you are interested in "alternative energy" you should read this: http://www1.umn.edu/umnnews/Feature_Stories/Ethanol_fuel_presents_a_cornundrum.html

Now anyone who knows anything realizes that the University of MN is hardly a right wing think tank. But even they say (see linked report above) that if the entire corn production of the US went into ethanol production it would only replace 12% of our Gasoline needs. They like biodiesel but also admit that the entire soybean crop US Soybean crop would only provide 6% of our diesel needs. You read that right - 100% of our corn would only provide 12% of our gas and 100% of our soybeans would provide 6% of our diesel. Hmmmm. Wonder what we would eat then?

Of course all you greenies want us to eat "organic" (guys please, please, please take a chemistry course and learn the true meaning of the word organic). You love to talk about its health benefits and its "greenness" but never talk much about how its much lower yeilds are going to feed 6 billion people and still produce all that corn and soybeans you need for your alternative energy boondoggles.

What does all this have to do with the "investment" in greentech ventures? Well its this: Our government and you green lefties are always trying to socially engineer and manipulate us into using energy technologies that are not economically viable without heavy government subsidies. Ethanol is a perfect example.

Personally I want to invest my money in things that will actually work.
