to Ford. My idea was to save the Atlanta Taurus plant by making the car "open source". IOW the specifications would not change, and all interested bidders could make parts for it. This is like the VW beetle where hundreds of "custom kits" were created for it (I liked the "Rolls" beetle with the square hood and grill).
