Greenwash
I?m still trying to see how this dashboard meets any bar of ?sustainability?. Business, and in particular US businesses, have neglected to standardize or even contextualize the word ?sustainability?. This despite the passage of 26 years between today and the UN World Commission of Environment and Development, Brundtland Commission laying it all out before them. How does knowing how many fewer dollars or trees or non-renewable resources you?ve spent during some time period equate to "?development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs"? The compromise of resource consumption for increased and immediate profit realization is still being struck, and that?s the catch.

Dashboards like this are really neat, except that they deal in imaginary and hugely generalized commodities. This is ultimately a way to ?greenwash? contemporary consumptive business practices. Just a way of doing more of the same thing; this puts humanity in its increasingly precarious situation.
