It is about time!
With the initial push from the electric motor, a diesel would not have to huff and puff under load to accelerate thus eliminating the condition under which diesels polute the most. If the engine were optimized for it's most effecient and clean operating conditions then the range limitations of an electric would disappear and would finally become viable in a large state like Texas.
I hope they get it approved for sale in the U.S.
Too bad they had to get out from under Ford to do this .... and we wonder why American car manufacturers are in trouble
