Sorry Harry
You're in the wrong place if you expect reasonable discussion based on facts. The majority of responders here start from ideology, not facts.

Nuclear fission, of course, is still the same ideology that got us here in the first place. Use a scarce, incredibly polluting resource so that someone can make a lot of money and when it runs out, find another one. Fusion is another story, but is still some years from being practical. Rail of course is akin to communism - all those drones showed into rail cars wink

As to paranoia about government, it seems to be particularly American and there is little you can discuss with a person who believes the government is a huge malefic force out to get them personally (you have read Paul Murphy haven't you?). The problem with ideology is that it doesn't even matter when in all comes crashing down, have you noticed the same people who caused the current financial problems are still there giving out advice as if they knew what they were doing.

Give me socialism anyday, at least it espouses the greater good, rather than anything for a profit, so that a few people can get filthy rich.

Nationalise the banks NOW wink
