Green tech calculators you can count on, literally

Thank you for bringing the whole CO2/Green calculator topic to the IT community. Many of us are well aware of these tools for general home use or travel but you have identified some excellent resources for the IT community. Doug Washburn?s Green It Baseline is a fine exercise for those who have them time (not a lot really) and access to good data. However, all too often we see companies where no one even knows the IT power bill.

The folks at Native Energy certainly have some very nice CO2 tools for the average consumer and it is nice to see Rackspace make such an effort to extend this concept to the IT space. We at Emerson have launched a related tool, our Energy Logic calculator that addresses the issue of productivity. This can be found at www.emerson.com/edc/page/Calculators.aspx.

Great stuff and maybe in the future we will see a ZDNet reference page with links to all sorts of related IT energy, CO2, productivity, and eWaste tools.
