- Once again, what percentage of lawn owners

fertilize and water thier lawns? Listening to you, you'd think everyone with some sort of lawn waters and fertilizes it every day of the year!
And you're wrong: we didn't get the idea of "the lawn" from the English Garden, people realized early on that a yard full of grass kept the rodent population down while preserving their yards (as opposed to being washed away in a sea of mud everytine it rained or snowed)
