All righty then...
Here's the scoop. The average american household uses 14,000 kWh/year, about 1,200 per month in round numbers, meaning a 6kWh generator is about the right size--assuming the wind never dies.

I couldn't find prices for Proven Energy, but a Quiet Revolution 6kWh unit costs 25,000 British pounds, which is about 49,750 dollars. That doesn't include installation *or* batteries to store power for when the wind isn't running. Given the price for an 8KVA UPS battery pack is $6,000 I'm thinking enough batteries to power a house for any given length of time is going to be REALLY expensive, at least $10,000.

Since the average electrical cost for 14,000 kWh is about $1,000 it would take *well over* 60 years to recoup the cost of the generator (plus installation plus batteries) assuming the wind *never failed*.

And this is for *one house*. happy

Not nearly there yet... (laughing)
