Species come, species go
Global warming positivies :

Organisms can grow and develop at faster rates, thus bringing us new species more rapidly.

Plants will grow more quickly, taking more CO2 from the atmosphere. The warmer it gets, the harder vegetation will work to remove CO2. If we get to the point that it's necessary, we'll simply have to plant trees everywhere. A forest is 10 degrees cooler (in the summer) than the plains around it. The extra heat and CO2 will accelerate the growth of forests. The green of vegetation keeps the rate of warming down, compared to areas of dead vegetation (eg, where the ice caps have receded).

Probably, as you touched upon, disease is what we need to really worry about in the very short term. There are so many humans for diseases to come into contact with, mutate on, regenerate, basically practice becoming successful against us - yup they want to take over the world too, we've pushed them back hard, they'll push back hard against us. We live in a time where the populations immune systems are very weak, so that further exposes us to large scale harm.

We already have answers to many of these things, it's just that answers aren't "as profitable". Note that the medical industry, however, is slowly becoming more holistic and homoeopathic rather than tablet counting based (and that can only be a good thing, a step [back] in the right direction).

Great news though : Even though you didn't ask to be born, you get a free go at something for up to (around) 100 years.
