- biofuels are folly

Theres three big things wrong with biofuels.
1. Around the world in places like Malaysia, there has been a marked increase in removal of rainforest in order to plant more crops - like oil palms - for biofuel. The push for biofuel is already having a negative impact on the environment and if the push continues, so will the damage.
2. Energy out is less than energy in. Like many of these alternative fuel ideas, it takes more energy to make biofuels than you get from using them.
3. Even if we destroyed all of the natural environment in the world to make way for biofuel crops and turned all of our current food production for biofuels, we still wouldn't come anywhere near close to replacing petroleum.
Real viable solutions please.
1. Electric vehicles.
2. Massive increases in efficiency.
