Yes, the sad thing is that the only technology that could solve the energy question forever is getting little attention. In the past few years, the entire world (US, Europe, Japan,...) came up with a mere $15 billion total budget to build ITER the experimental fusion reactor. This is just an engineering problem, the physics is there (I am not talking about cold fusion). Nuclear Fusion is clean (unlike Nuclear Fission or Coal) and virtually limitless (this is the physics that powers the Sun). What if 10% of the oil profits were invested in fusion research? instead of palaces, cars and other luxuries of life? (not to mention bombs and tanks). Of course, that would be too easy ....
