Yeah right! Blame the car makers and Bush
Gee! The liberals in CA and NY government could simply TAX gas guzzlers through sales tax or super high registration fees.

A $6000 tax or registration fee on a Hummer would sure quell demand and Washington wouldn't have a thing to do with it.

But the liberals would then have to shoulder any aggravation from voters. It's much easier for them to blame Bush and file all sorts of unneccessary lawsuits and keep things in the press even more - all because they don't have the guts to face the voters.

By the way, Bloomberg in NYC wants to create "congestion pricing" tolls in Manhattan. At the same time he, and our very liberal senators, argue AGAINST congestion pricing for landing slots at Kennedy Airport. How come it's good to reduce pollution from cars in NYC but bad to reduce the pollution from jet planes? One take off by an airliner equals more than all the pollution the average driver will create in their lifetime.
