Have you ever been to the North Sea?
It's NASTY up there, warships get hammered every year up there. THe Scots (whom are the real architects behind the Pelamis and have been testing it for a while in the North Sea).

Yes this is viable on so many levels.

First it's up to 50 miles off coast, no "eye sore"

Second it's submerged, no navigational or reduced navigational hazard. Also no significant negative impact on sea life.

Third, it can be secured for heavy seas in the event of a nasty storm.

Fourth, tidal action and currents are pretty much constant and known, so plans can be made for periods of weak current or tidal action.

Bottom line I have already posted the system and it's specs (well a link to it from Scotland) along with other green renewables. The real bottom line is it's time to move into the 21st century and start using green tech not only for power but for our buildings as well. devil
